Get The Family Involved With Model Building
Model kits are often simply associated with a sad, geeky person sitting in the basement of their parent’s house and just sat there building and painting models non-stop and this is really not the case as there seem to be many families that actually help each other out when it comes to building models.
The great thing about models is that there are so many types that you can get that it is hard not to appreciate the industry. There are models for the people that know exactly what they are doing and there are of course models out there for people that have difficulty putting together the newest Lego model. There are many models out there that take a team of people to build and of course models for kids and for families to build together.
I always have a vivid memory of getting together with my parents and building one of the very first RC helicopters At the time these helicopters had not actually been around for a very long period if time which meant that at best they were very shady and they took weeks to put the thing together. We finally finished it and the day of testing has arrived, I was the first to fly it and what did I do, well of course I crashed it. Another week of repairs and it was ready to go again. This time we managed to keep it airborne and the best thing about the experience was that I spent a lot of time with my parents.
You really can get anything from Airfix model kits to all of the mad and crazy models that people just do not see.
If you have never sat down with your kids and build a model even if it is just a quick Lego one then I strongly suggest you do it, the memories stay in the Childs mind forever.
